A graduate of the
Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design Betty is a painter that likes working
on texture. Many of her works are done on plastered board. This surface
takes acrylic paint well and it can also be carved into easily. The images

Watercolours - Rick Foulger |
|
|
The inspiration for
my art imagery is the unparalleled beauty and rugged terrain of British
Columbia. Mountain spires draped in deep snow and glaciers. Valleys that are
squeezed between majestic mountains and ribboned throughout are hiking
trails and climbing routes. These access the peaks and gladed valleys that I
use to gain the unique vistas and vantage points seen in my watercolour
paintings.

Two Pillars
Painting -
Acrylic on Canvas,
24" by 36"
Artists Statement:
I have painted and drawn all of my life. I have given up working as a
jewellery designer, and have been concentrating on painting the last 4
years. I still enjoy beautiful lines and try to instill some of the
excitement I feel from nature. This particular painting was done in the
Valhalla mountains and is part of a series of "groundscapes". At the
present time I am working on a series of paintings of my dog and cats.

Fushia - Krista Stovel |
|
Fushia
Digital Art
"Fushia" is part of
a series on plants and flowers from Revelstoke based digital artist,
Krista Stovel.
Despite the intense
beauty of the mountains that surround Revelstoke, her interest lies not in
the grandness of the landscape, but in the lines and textures of nature's
smallest details, from the velvet petals of a lily, to a leaf found on the
ground after the snow has melted, its skeletal beauty as fine as lace.

| Sculpture
- David Sidley |
|
Seeker
Of Visions
1985 Bronze castingMy paintings and
sculptures are inspired by North American Indian rock art (pictographs
& petroglyphs), usually of pre-white contact origin. This work
has developed from a life long personal admiration and fascination toward
Native American culture and religion.
This is a very pure
art form and reflects the Native Americans' oneness with nature.
Exploring this art form in a contemporary manner is my way to approach the
culture as it was.

Hand-felted wool, silk
Kathleen Hill is a
fibre artist working predominantly in felt in her home studio.
The human figure
and the natural world offer imagery that she explores in large felt
wall-hangings. These often incorporate other materials such as silk
& yarn.
Not content to warm
just walls, she also has designed a series of unique felt rugs and
promoted the idea of "art for your floor" by teaching workshops
in the making of floor cloths.
